JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading and operation of various heavy duty tractor/trailer combinations in the transportation of bulk material, large quantities of liquid substances, oversize and overweight materials, construction equipment, electric motors, and electrical equipment both inside and outside the OG&E service territory.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Routine duties based on detailed instruction. Works under direct supervision. Responds to routine questions and problems within standards and guides. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in the safe and efficient operation of assigned vehicles and equipment in accordance with all governmental laws and regulations.
  • Drives and operates cranes in the absence of Special Equipment Operator (under limited operating condition).
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Works inside energized substations, Operating Power Plants, and Other Construction Sites.
  • Loads, unloads and operates heavy duty tractor trailer combinations in the transportation of oversize loads including over length poles, over height, width and weight construction, and electrical equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma/GED And 2 years experience driving tractor trailers.
  • Required Certifications/Licensures: (Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with DOT certification required).

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs.
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
  • May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
  • May require travel.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a DOT Regulated Position – Member will drive a single vehicle, or a truck and trailer combination weighing over 10,001 lbs.
  • The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous materials;
  • The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;
  • Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;
  • The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

  • Ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations.
  • Strong knowledge of medium to heavy duty trucks and tractor/trailers.
  • Familiar with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Ability to load and secure material within vehicles.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required Certifications/Licensures: (Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with DOT certification required (21 years old or older)

  • DOT Drug Test / Physical
  • DOT Driver Qual History – 7 years

  • This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive Job under state law. Individuals in this position are subject to the terms and conditions set forth in OGE Energy Corp.’s Drug Testing Plan.

SALARY RANGE

$68,120 – $80,163
