Position Summary
Fortress Development Solutions is seeking an experienced Heavy Haul/Low Boy Class A CDL Driver to transport heavy equipment and materials safely and efficiently. This role involves operating lowboy trailers, heavy haul trucks, and other related equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a skilled driver with experience in hauling oversized and overweight loads and is committed to maintaining the company’s high standards of safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Transportation:
- Safely operate lowboy trailers, heavy haul trucks, and related equipment to transport oversized and overweight loads.
- Load, secure, and unload heavy equipment, such as excavators, dozers, and graders, ensuring proper tie-down and weight distribution.
- Transport equipment to and from job sites, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the truck and equipment are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including trip logs, inspection reports, and load details.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, project managers, and job site personnel regarding schedules and delivery updates.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and team members.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on trucks and trailers as needed.
- Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs to the maintenance team promptly.
- Additional Duties:
- Assist with equipment loading and unloading as necessary.
- Support other operational needs as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy haul or lowboy transportation.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and oversize/overweight hauling permits.
- Ability to operate and secure heavy equipment safely.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
- Preferred:
- Experience in the oil and gas or civil construction industries.
- Familiarity with equipment like excavators, dozers, and graders.
- Knowledge of Greeley and surrounding areas.

Pay: $30.00 – $36.00 per hour
