RK Contractors, Inc. is a well-established utility and civil construction contractor serving the electrical and petroleum industries. We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Heavy Equipment Operator/CDL Driver who takes pride in their work, thinks ahead, solves problems, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Transport equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites using CDL vehicles
- Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and utility installation work
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and vehicles
- Identify maintenance concerns and report issues promptly
- Complete Daily Job Reports (DJRs) accurately and on time
- Maintain DOT compliance, logs, and transportation records as required
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite requirements
- Work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, subcontractors, and clients
- Keep equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean, organized, and professional
- Assist with other construction-related duties as needed
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- CDL License preferred (Class A preferred)
- Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one
- Experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction, utility work, excavation, grading, or related industries
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment concerns before they become major issues
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and jobsite requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
Compensation & Growth Opportunities
Pay: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, CDL licensing, equipment operating skills, certifications, and overall industry knowledge.
Employees with strong CDL experience, specialized equipment certifications, utility construction experience, leadership abilities, and a proven commitment to safety and productivity will have opportunities for increased compensation and advancement within the company.

Additional Requirements
All employees are required to:
- Complete Daily Job Reports (DJRs) before the end of each shift
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and legible
- Submit all fuel receipts, credit card receipts, and job-related purchases
- Clearly write employee name, job number, and date on all receipts and paperwork
- Complete all required safety paperwork, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and incident reports
- Perform daily inspections of vehicles, equipment, and tools
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Participate in pre-employment and random drug testing programs
