Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Gravel Train Driver with a valid CDL A license to operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting gravel and related materials efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role requires a professional driver with experience in freight delivery, route driving, and operating various types of trucks, including dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated trailers. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, reliability, and timely deliveries.

Duties

  • Operate gravel train trucks and other commercial vehicles such as flatbeds, tanker trucks, refrigerated trailers, and dump trucks
  • Load and unload materials efficiently at various job sites using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
  • Drive route-specific deliveries ensuring timely arrival at each destination
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip
  • Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities
  • Assist with the maintenance of trucks and trailers to ensure optimal operation
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or vehicle issues

Skills

  • Valid CDL A license with experience in tractor-trailer operations
  • Proven driving experience in freight delivery, route driving, or similar roles involving commercial trucks
  • Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tanker trucks, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
  • Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual methods when required
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to truck driving and freight handling
  • Excellent navigation skills for route planning and adherence to schedules
  • Good communication skills for coordination with dispatchers and clients
  • Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks
