Job Summary
Join our team as a Full-Time CDL-A Truck Driver and enjoy the stability of a home daily schedule. In this vital role, you will transport freight efficiently and safely across designated routes to PPS customers located in Fairborn, OH and Batesville, IN. This position involves day shift work during the week and 1-2 weekend night shifts a month.

Primary Duties

• Comply with all local, state, and federal safe driving laws, regulations, practices; along with expectations set by the US Department of Labor (DOT).
• Adhere to PPS/MPW’s safety, driver safety, and all other Company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for conducting and documenting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any concerns and ensuring vehicles are in good mechanical and safety condition.
• Safely transport freight for PPS Batesville’s customers, ensuring excellent customer service that scheduled deadlines are met.
• Report all incidents and/or damages to the Plant Manager, immediately.
• Load and unload materials/parts, verify loads for accuracy, and complete paperwork accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records/logs of driving hours, inspections, fuel, and tolls, if required and complete and verify paperwork for accuracy.
• Understand in-house fleet operations and outsource freight services.
• Occasional in-house operation of a Forklift (after training) may be required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, is preferred.
• Hold a valid commercial driver’s license; CDL-A, required.
• 2+ years of experience as a CDL A Driver.
• Knowledge of, and ability to, comply with the rules and regulations, governing CDL driver, set forth by the US Department of Labor (DOT). (i.e., Including, but not limited to, DOT documentations/licensing requirements and regulations and compliance with state and federal HOS regulations).
• Ability to work varying hours (e.g., weekends, evenings, etc.) to accommodate PPS’ operational requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Forklift certification and experience, asset.
• Interstate driving experience is an asset.
• Willingness to work on the production floor; after training, per business need is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
• Ability to sit and drive for long periods of time.
• Ability to maintain alertness and fitness for duty.

Pay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour
