Position Summary:
The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for the effective oversight, coordination, and optimization of all BGC fleet operations, ensuring vehicles and equipment are safe, reliable, and fully aligned with operational and regulatory standards.
This role supports the Engineering and Operations functions by ensuring fleet readiness, minimizing downtime, and enabling efficient field execution across the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee daily fleet operations, including vehicle allocation, utilization, deployment, and tracking to support Engineering, Field Operations, and Service teams.
- Ensure all BGC fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and mobile assets remain road-ready, licensed, insured, and operating at optimal performance levels.
- Monitor fleet activity to identify usage patterns, efficiency gaps, and opportunities for cost and performance improvements.
- Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend vehicle and equipment life cycles.
- Coordinate repairs, servicing, inspections, and diagnostics with internal technicians and approved external vendors.
- Maintain strict adherence to all safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, regulatory requirements (including RTC), and BGC engineering standards.
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including maintenance logs, repair history, inspection reports, licensing, and insurance documentation.
- Track fuel consumption, vehicle performance metrics, and operational costs to support budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
- Manage fleet inventory, including tools, spare parts, fluids, and materials required for maintenance and field operations.
- Investigate vehicle incidents, accidents, equipment failures, and damage; prepare incident reports and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- Support emergency response operations by ensuring fleet readiness at all times.
- Provide supervision, direction, and performance oversight for Fleet Service Technicians and fleet support staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the fleet team.
- Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, PMO, Warehouse, and Inventory teams to ensure seamless support for field activities.
- Implement and enforce daily fleet inspection protocols and pre-deployment readiness checks.
- Monitor and minimize fleet downtime through timely diagnostics, repairs, and return-to-service actions.
- Assign vehicles to authorized drivers and enforce vehicle accountability, usage standards, and condition reporting.
- Enforce fuel management and yard control procedures, including usage monitoring, access control, and tracking of high consumption vehicles.
Other Requirements:
- Availability to respond to after-hours operational needs or emergency situations.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands:
- Combination of office and field based work.
- Frequent walking, standing, and inspection of vehicles and equipment.
Work Environment:
- Mix of office, garage, and field environments.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, mechanical equipment, and operational sites.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in fleet management, automotive maintenance, or operations.
- Experience supervising technical or operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety standards, and fleet systems.
