Flatbed Tow Truck Driver – Night Shift
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Flatbed Tow Truck Driver to safely transport vehicles using a flatbed tow truck. The driver will respond to roadside assistance calls, recover vehicles, and deliver excellent service to customers while ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a flatbed tow truck to transport cars, SUVs, motorcycles, and light trucks
- Load and unload vehicles using hydraulic systems, winches, and tie-down equipment
- Safely secure vehicles to prevent damage during transit
- Respond to dispatch calls for roadside assistance, breakdowns, and accident recoveries
- Provide services such as jump-starts, tire changes, lockouts, and fuel delivery
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and equipment
- Maintain accurate service records, invoices, and logs
- Communicate with dispatch, customers, and law enforcement as needed
- Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies
- Keep the tow truck clean and in good working condition
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have DCJS towing license authorization or begin process to get this designation.
- Clean driving record
- Previous experience operating a flatbed tow truck preferred
- Knowledge of loading/unloading procedures and vehicle securement techniques
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Good customer service and communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Capable of climbing, bending, pulling, and securing heavy equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to handle roadside environments safely, including high-traffic areas
Work Schedule
- Full-time, part-time, or on-call shifts available
- Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required
- Overtime opportunities depending on workload
Preferred Skills
Experience with roadside assistance services
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Familiarity with GPS and dispatch systems
- Towing/recovery certifications

Must be able to pass a drug screening, obtain a DCJS tow authorization card, and valid Medical Card.
