Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks, semi-trucks, flatbeds, tanker trucks, and refrigerated trailers across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight or materials efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with DOT standards.
- Follow planned routes diligently while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery schedules to ensure timely arrivals.
- Assist with securing loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., manual transmission experience preferred).
- Proven experience driving dump trucks, semi-trailers, or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial setting.
- Familiarity with various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
- Strong knowledge of route driving, safety protocols, and traffic laws applicable to commercial trucking.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
