Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate various types of trucks, including dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers, to transport freight, load and unload materials, and support route driving operations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to transportation regulations. Candidates with experience in truck driving, delivery routes, and operating specialized equipment such as forklifts are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and other commercial vehicles safely and efficiently
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Drive route deliveries according to scheduled plans while maintaining timely service
- Ensure proper securing of cargo including freight, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized loads
- Perform routine inspections of vehicles before and after trips; report any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation
- Follow all federal and state transportation regulations to ensure compliance
- Assist with maintenance tasks such as basic cleaning or minor repairs on trucks as needed
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump trucks, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and load & unload operations
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and operating specialized equipment like forklifts is preferred
- Experience with freight transportation across various vehicle types such as tractor-trailers and roll-off trucks
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo handling
- Ability to operate within tight schedules while maintaining safety standards
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and perform routine vehicle inspections
- Prior delivery driver experience is a plus
