Job description: Driver Training & Development Coordinator
Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
Location: Plattsmouth, Nebraska
Schedule: 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 1/2-day every other Saturday, on-call as needed
Job Description
The Driver Training & Development Coordinator oversees driver training, safety, and compliance, ensuring drivers meet company, state, and federal standards (e.g., DOT/FMCSA). They create training curricula, conduct behind-the-wheel instruction, analyze driver performance, and manage documentation. Key responsibilities include instructing employees, maintaining training records, and improving safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
· Training Development: Design, implement, and update training programs, including onboarding, safety briefings, and remedial training for drivers.
· Instruction and Certification: Conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel training for new hires and current staff.
· Safety & Compliance: Monitor DOT/FMCSA regulations, ensure driver qualification files are updated, and manage compliance with OSHA and local safety laws.
· Performance Evaluation: Use data, accident reports, and observation to assess driver skills and implement corrective actions.
· Documentation & Administration: Maintain precise records of training, certifications, and compliance logs.
· Current Drivers: Train and coach current drivers on new procedures and regulations, assist with troubleshooting problems and maintaining their vehicles, and provide instructions on new applications and equipment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), DOT, and state-specific driving regulations.
· Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills for conducting training and reporting to management.
· Technology Proficiency: Ability to use training software, vehicle inspection technology, and Microsoft Office.
· Mechanical Proficiency: Understanding general mechanical abilities and PTO’s, hydraulics, pumps, valves, and plumbing.
· Instructional Techniques: Experience in adult education methods to effectively teach new drivers.
· Professional Leadership: Strong leadership skills, the ability to share knowledge as a mentor in a group, or one-on-one setting, and work in a team setting with other leadership within the company.
Qualifications:
· Must live within 30 minutes of Omaha, Nebraska
· Must have previous tanking experience
· Must have a Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsement
· Must have a clean driving record
· Must be able to pass PCP with a DOT Physical and Drug test
Work Environment
· Positions often involve a mix of office work, classroom instruction, and outdoor work in various weather conditions, including sitting, standing, climbing up ladders up to 11’ on ladder and/or catwalk, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Additional Information
This is a full-time position with a schedule of 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and every other Saturday, with on-call as needed outside of regular working hours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong commitment to safety.
