Job Summary
Operates heavier transport vehicles which may have 6 or more wheels. Delivers supplies, products or equipment between the organisation and customer sites according to designated schedule. Enhanced responsibilities may include: complex pickups and deliveries, e.g., night deliveries, international travel, transport of dangerous and hazardous products. Requires a commercial/heavy goods driving license, however please check local rules. Examples: Box trucks, buses and other types of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV)
Job Level
Requires skills developed through formal training or work experience.
Works within established procedures and guidelines with limited ability to modify approach and moderate degree of supervision
- Climb/step-up into a truck cab
- Grip, lift, push, pull, and carry wheeled, plastic bins over, up and down inclines, stairs, changes in walking surfaces and elevations
- Lift at least 70 lbs.
- Walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Be able to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening, a background check and a DOT physical
- Demonstrate safe and efficient driving skills
- At least three years of route transportation experience in a multi-stop service route environment is preferred
- Handheld scanner proficiency
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to adhere and enforce all security procedures
Pay: $26.50 per hour
