About The Role

The Driver / Operations Support Technician is responsible for the safe transportation of company personnel, equipment and materials while supporting the daily operational activities of the workshop, yard and stores. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficient operation of the business by assisting across multiple operational departments when driving duties are not required. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who takes pride in driving as a career, enjoys working in a hands-on industrial environment, and is seeking a stable, long-term role as part of a growing operations team.

Key Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to:

  • Safely transport company equipment, materials and personnel to customer sites, suppliers and other locations as required.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure company vehicles remain clean, roadworthy and compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Load, secure and unload equipment and materials using safe handling practices.
  • Assist with receiving, storing and issuing materials within the stores.
  • Support workshop personnel with material handling, preparation of equipment and general operational activities.
  • Assist with stock movements between the yard, workshop and warehouse.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards within the yard, warehouse and operational areas.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment where authorized.
  • Complete delivery documentation, vehicle inspection records and other logistics paperwork accurately.
  • Assist with inventory counts, logistics activities and operational support as required.
  • Comply with all Company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
  • Carry out any other reasonable operational duties assigned by management.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ professional driving experience, preferably within an industrial, manufacturing, logistics or oil & gas environment.
  • Experience towing trailers and transporting equipment would be advantageous.
  • Experience operating forklifts or material handling equipment would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift certification would be advantageous.

Skills

The following are the minimum skills required to perform the function:

  • Good knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle care.
  • An intermediate knowledge of the MS Office suite, including Word and Outlook, would be advantageous.
  • Good written communicator (email; WhatsApp).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Willingness to support multiple operational departments as business requirements dictate.
