Duties
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including box trucks and Spinter Vans , adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload goods efficiently using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as power jacks, dollies, pc carts and pallet jacks.
- Assist crew, customers or clients with moving items, ensuring proper lifting practices to prevent injury while managing heavy or bulky loads.
- Plan optimal routes for delivery or moving assignments, utilizing mobile devices for navigation and real-time updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and inventory movements through digital or paper logs.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly, professionally, and courteously during deliveries or moves.
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving, moving, warehouse operations with a focus on manual handling and safe lifting practices.
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating box trucks or commercial trucks.
- Knowledge of route planning, traffic regulations, DOT compliance, and weight handling in the workplace.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks combined with attention to safety protocols with crew.
- Excellent customer service skills with clear communication abilities; professional demeanor at all times.
- Comfort using mobile devices for navigation, route updates, or documentation purposes.
