Fresh Point, a division of Sysco, is the largest produce distributor in North America, we focus on bringing fresh food from the farmer’s field to our customers’ kitchens. Responsibilities
- Establish positive relationships with Fresh Point customers by providing excellent customer service through timely and accurate delivery of products, answering customer queries, and providing resolution to delivery-related issues.
- Escalate customer concerns directly to supervisor.
- Accurate delivery of products as per established routes, schedules, and customer invoices.
- Safely deliver goods from delivery vehicle via hand, hand cart or pallet, and place in designated customer storage areas. This may include transporting products downstairs, ramps, docks or elevators in all weather conditions.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned equipment and company vehicle.
- Meeting defined benchmarks for route completion.
- Accurately maintain a daily trip log notating information as prescribed.
- Adhering to all Preferred Work Methods and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Understand, uphold and company with Sysco’s policies and procedures, e.g. health and safety, returns etc.
- Initiate process of issuing credit to customers by providing all relevant information required to appropriate stakeholders.
- Complete pre-trip and post trip inspections of delivery equipment and MHE.
- Escalate mechanical issues, order discrepancies and delivery delays to supervisor and ensure photographic evidence are included to substantiate claims.
- Provide feedback or information on areas of opportunity to streamline or increase efficiency on route schedules or customer base.
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak.
Problem Solving
- Able to effectively resolve issues independently at a customer site or at work site when required.
Customer Service
- This role will be required to interact and provide an excellent customer service by building positive relationships with customers during deliveries and exhibit product knowledge when required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent physical efforts required including lifting of up to 60+ lbs while walking up/downstairs and loading docks.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor working conditions with varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- 70-80% driving which requires sitting for long periods of time.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing position considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years experience operating a vehicle with a clean driving abstract.
Education & License
- High School Diploma.
- Post secondary education considered an asset.
- Class 3 License with clean Driver’s Abstract and clear Criminal Record Check.
