Responsibilities
- Safely operate a cargo van or box truck to complete daily delivery routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs
- Load and unload cargo using manual lifting techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts as needed, maintaining safety standards at all times
- Verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures, and document all transactions accurately to ensure proper record-keeping
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, performing routine inspections before and after each shift
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues promptly, and provide excellent customer service
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during route driving to guarantee safe transportation of goods
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, moving supplies within the facility, or preparing shipments for delivery as required
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with route driving expertise
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and courteously
- Warehouse experience including load & unload procedures and inventory handling
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safe driving practices for box trucks or vans
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks safely using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary
- Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles is preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> drivers or similar vehicles is advantageous
