The company owns and manages Quality Hill Mall along Ggaba Road near the American Embassy in Kampala, Uganda, providing a modern commercial environment for tenants and visitors. SAL also operates Le Petit Village, a boutique hotel known for its distinctive style and personalized service. Its hospitality portfolio further includes La Patisserie, a French pastry shop, and Le Chateau Brasserie Belge, a European cuisine restaurant. Together, these properties offer a dynamic workplace for team members interested in hospitality, customer service, and facility operations.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Driver role based in Kampala. The Driver will transport goods, supplies, and occasionally guests between SAL properties and designated locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Daily responsibilities include operating company trucks and vehicles, performing basic vehicle checks, maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle, and following all traffic and safety regulations. The role involves coordinating with supervisors and other team members to plan routes, loading and unloading items, and completing delivery documentation as required. The Driver will also interact with customers, guests, and partners in a professional manner, providing courteous assistance and representing the company’s brand standards.
Qualifications

  • Strong truck driving skills with experience operating commercial vehicles and trucks.
  • Valid CDL Class A or equivalent heavy vehicle driving license, with a clean driving record.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills to interact with clients, guests, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with local routes in Kampala and adherence to road safety and traffic regulations.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when required.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, logistics, or commercial transport is an added advantage.
  • Minimum secondary school education or equivalent; additional driver safety training is a plus.
