Director of Driver Recruiting Jobs in Joliet at AGM Transport Inc.
AGM Transport, an asset-based carrier in Joliet, IL, is hiring a Director of Driver Recruiting to build and lead our CDL-A driver recruiting department. You’ll manage recruiters, own hiring and retention results, and report directly to executive leadership.
This is not a recruiter position — it’s a leadership role for someone who has already run a driver recruiting team at a carrier and wants the authority to build something better.
What You’ll Do
Lead the recruiting team
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of CDL driver recruiters
- Set performance standards and run weekly coaching and performance reviews
- Build recruiting processes, call scripts, and playbooks from the ground up
Own driver hiring results
- Increase qualified CDL-A driver hires and lead-to-seat conversion
- Reduce cost per hire and improve recruiter productivity
- Improve 30/60/90-day driver retention
Build recruiting strategy
- Own the recruiting budget and lead source mix (job boards, agencies, referrals, digital marketing)
- Develop new lead generation strategies and improve recruiting marketing ROI
- Partner with Operations, Safety, and Executive Leadership on hiring plans
Drive performance through data
- Track and improve: leads generated, contact rates, application completion, orientation attendance, drivers seated, cost per hire, retention, and recruiter performance
Requirements
- 5+ years of CDL-A driver recruiting experience at a trucking carrier
- 3+ years managing recruiters or recruiting teams
- Proven, measurable results leading a recruiting department (hires, conversion, cost per hire)
- Experience with Tenstreet or a similar driver recruiting ATS
- Strong coaching and leadership skills; data-driven decision maker
Preferred
- Experience managing remote or international teams
- HubSpot or similar CRM experience
- Driver recruiting marketing / lead generation experience
- Experience leading teams of 5+ recruiters
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $110,000–$130,000 (based on experience)
- Performance bonus tied to drivers seated, 60/90-day retention, cost per hire, and department performance

Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
