Job Overview
The Pennsylvania Sawmill Company is seeking a Delivery Driver and Equipment Operator. This role includes moving our sawmill products across the state and the northeast, loading and unloading deliveries, and communicating with the main office for delivery logistics. The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience driving large trucks and mid-size flatbeds in residential neighborhoods. A CDL is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities
· Delivering lumber products through Pennsylvania and along the east coast
· Conducting pre-trip safety checks to ensure good running order
· Delivering products in a safe and timely manner
· Maintaining positive communication with all customers
· Travelling efficiently, but safely to maintain schedules outlined on company-supplied itineraries
· Immediately reporting any significant delays, collisions, truck malfunctions, truck damage, product damage, etc. to the Shipping Logistics Coordinator (SLC)
· Monitoring upcoming weather conditions to optimize safe driving
· Tarping and properly covering materials where required to avoid road spray/ inclement weather from damaging product
· Properly loading, strapping, unstrapping & unloading material at all destinations
· Maintaining inventory of daily driving logs, customer receipts, and other relevant paperwork and turning it in to supervisor in a timely manner
· Cleaning the interior and exterior (cab only) of all company vehicles weekly
· Frequent checking of all fluid levels, topping off where necessary before major trips
· Working with the sawmill office location to coordinator delivery logistics
· Relaying pertinent customer-provided information to supervisors when necessary
· Strictly adhering to all driving laws & commercial vehicle regulations
· Immediately reporting any illness, injury, major changes in medication or intoxication, or changes in status of Driver’s License.
This is a full-time position with standard working hours from 7:30pm-4:00pm, although hours may be adjusted to accommodate delivery routes. There will be frequent travel between the office location (Centre Hall), the shop location (Spring Mills), and the sawmill location (Lewisburg).
Requirements
· Must complete a Driver Qualification File upon employment
· Driver must have a clean record of driving with no major vehicle violations
· Previous experience driving frieightliners, large vehicles, or transporting large products
· Frequent heavy lifting of materials during loading and unloading
· Due to state laws, texting or phone operations are not permitted during driving. If a call or text must be sent/received, the vehicle must come to a complete stop before the driver may pick up the phone
· Prior forklift experience is helpful, but not required
· A CDL is NOT required for this position

Pay is hourly, employees are eligible for overtime. Pay rate commensurate with experience.
