Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws, ensuring secure transportation of goods.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, utilizing organizational skills to optimize time and resources.
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise with proper heavy lifting practices to prevent damage or injury.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients professionally, addressing inquiries, and ensuring satisfaction upon delivery.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, demonstrating strong sales skills to enhance revenue opportunities.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, receipts, and inventory records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members regarding route updates, delays, or issues encountered during deliveries.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial driving or route driving preferred; familiarity with automobile transportation is a plus.
- Strong math skills for accurate pricing calculations and transaction handling.
- Demonstrated ability to perform safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and team members professionally.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to ensure proper product presentation during deliveries.
- Organizational skills necessary for route planning and time management.
- Military experience involving logistics or transportation is considered an asset.
