Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks and trailers to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and excellent driving skills. The Driver will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate different types of trucks including tractor-trailers and refrigerated trailers
- Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Drive assigned routes, ensuring timely delivery of goods to clients.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes.
- Assist with pallet jack operation or other equipment as needed for loading or unloading cargo.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (Non-CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck operated.
- Experience driving manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Prior experience operating refrigerated trailers, is highly desirable.
- Proven truck driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with route driving and delivery procedures.
- Experience with freight handling equipment such as forklifts is a plus.
- Strong commitment to safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
