The Career Opportunity

The DART CDL Bus Driver – Relief provides safe, courteous and on-time transportation to customers in buses, adhering to traffic regulations and maintaining schedules/routes. The Relief Driver communicates respectfully while providing excellent customer service to passengers.

The DART Relief CDL Bus Driver must meet these minimum qualifications:

  • Must be a current DART Driver in good standing (no PIPs in the last 6-months) with excellent attendance and excellent safety record.
  • Required to know at least 10 routes.
  • Required to drive all buses.
  • Must have flexibility as one’s schedule may change or be extended based on business need.
  • Must have ability to learn or have knowledge of all routes based out of Kent or Willows.
  • Hold a valid Washington Commercial Driver License with Passenger Endorsement.
  • Able to pass the DOT (Department of Transportation) Medical examination.
  • Be available to work a flexible work schedule which may include morning and afternoon shifts, nights and weekends.

Examples Of What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide safe, courteous and on-time transportation to customers in buses; adheres to traffic regulations.
  • Communicate and interact with individuals of various backgrounds and abilities; communicate with dispatchers by radio and provide verbal and written incident/accident reports.
  • Assist and secure passengers; provide special assistance as needed, such as opening doors, operating lift and ramp, securing wheelchair.
  • Maintain schedules on regular fixed routes, deviations, collect fares, issue transfers; provide verbal information to the public regarding routes, schedules and transfer points (Transit Centers).
  • Inspect vehicle before and after operation; (Pre and Post trip).
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance in-order to provide dependable service to the public.
