Overview
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the Waitrose produce and Partner-led service to customers’ doors and support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping. Night premium applies for hours between 22:00 and 06:00 (£3.75 per hour).
Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare the van for deliveries, ensuring orders are ready to be delivered directly to customers.
- Complete appropriate vehicle safety checks and maintain road safety compliance.
- Act as a Waitrose brand ambassador with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience
- Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Great customer service and time management skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (lifting crates, moving cages).
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable skills/experience
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
