Dean Steel Erection Company is looking for a full-time crane operator who is interested in a long-term job.
The hours of this job position will vary. The starting rate of this job position will be based upon experience. This is a hands-on job. This company places safety first and some extra safety measures will be required.
*Must have a Class A license.
Crane Operator Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of mobile cranes to lift, move, and position loads.
- Inspect cranes for safety issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Communicate with ground crew and signalers to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
- Calculate load weights and determine the appropriate lifting equipment and methods.
- Monitor crane operations to detect any malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations.
- Assist in the setup and dismantling of cranes as required for different job sites.
- Adhere to project schedules.
- Collaborate with other construction team members to coordinate lifting activities.
Crane Operator Requirements:
- CDL Class A License is required.
- Valid crane operator certification from a recognized authority (e.g., NCCCO – National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret load charts is preferred.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Most days begin and end at our local shop.
