Blue Water Pools of Grand Rapids, Inc. is the premier backyard living construction company in the West Michigan area since 1987. We design and build custom residential outdoor living projects as the General Contractor. We work with custom home builders and residential clients to create a total backyard living space. Elements of construction from demolition to final completion of outdoor kitchens, pergola’s, in-ground pool or hot tub, fire pit or fireplace, hardscapes, landscaping, fencing, drainage, and total yard repair. The Construction CDL A Driver hourly range is $26 to $30, based on experience and skills. Must have a valid CDL A license and clean driving record.
Position Summary:
The Construction CDL A Driver will be responsible for assistance with the completion of pool projects, including new construction builds and remodels. Role consists of driving and operating a manual dump truck, along with various pieces of heavy equipment. With some general labor on work sites to ensure timely project completion and communicating with leadership about project tasks.
Position Responsibilities:
- Operate and relocate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and forklifts.
- Driving and operating manual dump truck.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, material movement, or site preparation tasks as required.
- Inspect equipment daily before use to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including OSHA guidelines and company policies.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with team members, management, subcontractors and clients to ensure smooth workflow.
- Overall assistance with completion of projects
- Manual labor (use of shovels, lifting materials, job site cleanup, demolition, use of power tools, loading/unloading materials, operation of skid steer, digging trenches, etc.)
- Picking up materials, tools, and supplies to deliver to job sites
- Unload and carry materials at construction sites
- Assist contractors and machine operators at construction sites
- Running heavy machinery when trained
- Ensuring jobsite cleanliness
- Keep tools, inventory, parts, and materials clean and organized in the vehicles & trailers
Qualifications & Skills:
- The position requires a CDL A license and clean driving record
- Experience REQUIRED driving a manual dump truck
- Experience doing routine maintenance on heavy equipment, preferred
- Experience operating heavy equipment, required
- Strong understanding of safety protocols
- Ability to read site plans and follow instructions accurately
- The position requires constant walking, bending, and lifting
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Requires the physical ability to use hands, arms, feet, and legs for repetitive movements, bending, squatting, and reaching
- Requires the physical ability to function in exposure to marked changes in temperature
- Must not have any physical limitations, excellent physical stamina, and ability to lift up to 100 LBS with assistance
