Role Description The Company Driver role at DK EXPRESS CARGO INC is a full-time, on-site position based in Stockton, CA. The driver will operate company trucks to transport various food products and other goods safely and efficiently over the road, following all traffic laws and company policies. Daily responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, maintaining accurate logs and delivery documentation, and communicating with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding schedules and route updates. The driver will interact with customers at pickup and delivery locations, representing the company with professional conduct and ensuring timely deliveries. The role also involves monitoring vehicle performance, reporting maintenance needs, and adhering to safety and compliance standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Strong truck driving skills, including safe operation of commercial trucks and adherence to DOT regulations.
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and experience in OTR or regional freight transport.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers.
- Customer service skills to provide respectful, professional interactions at pickup and delivery locations.
- Ability to perform basic truck inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Knowledge of cargo securement, temperature-controlled freight (preferred), and general safety practices.
- Reliability in following schedules, routes, and company procedures, with flexibility for varying hours.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in food or refrigerated transport is a plus.
