Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Commercial Roofing Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you won’t just be driving; you will be a vital part of our field operations. You will be responsible for transporting heavy roofing materials, equipment, and debris to and from commercial job sites. The ideal candidate has experience with heavy-duty vehicles, a strong safety mindset, and the physical capability to assist with loading and unloading when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe Transportation: Safely operate company vehicles (such as flatbeds, dump trucks, etc.) to deliver commercial roofing materials (e.g., membranes, insulation, asphalt, pavers, metals) and equipment to job sites.
  • Loading & Securing Cargo: Ensure all loads are properly distributed, strapped, and secured before transit in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Site Coordination: Navigate busy, tight, or complex commercial construction sites safely. Coordinate with the Project Manager or Foreman on-site for proper material placement.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate truck-mounted equipment (such as liftgates, cranes, or boom trucks if certified) to load or unload materials.
  • Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily vehicle inspections (brakes, tires, fluids, lights) and maintain accurate logbooks to report any maintenance needs immediately.
  • Ground Support: Assist the roofing crew on the ground with staging materials or clearing debris when not actively driving.

Qualifications & Skills

  • License Requirements: Valid Commercial Driver’s License CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of commercial driving experience, preferably within the construction, roofing, or heavy material delivery industry preferred.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs regularly and work in outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, light rain).
  • Safety Mindset: Strong understanding of DOT regulations, cargo securement standards, and job site safety protocols.
  • Endorsements (Preferred but optional): Hazmat, Boom Truck/ Crane operator certification or experience is a major plus.
