Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Driver with a Class B license to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks and trailers to deliver freight efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in driving box trucks will ensure timely deliveries across diverse routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met and report any issues promptly.
- Manage route driving responsibilities with precision, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups across assigned territories.
- Handle freight securely during transit, ensuring proper load securement techniques are followed for safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all trips, including mileage and cargo details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues that arise during transit.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid Class B CDL license; experience with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving freight handling, route driving, load & unload operations, and working with refrigerated trailers or flatbed trucks.
- Familiarity with operating specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to tanker operations and roll-off trucks is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to drive box trucks over varied routes while maintaining safety standards.
