Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including buses and specialized transport vehicles, to safely and efficiently transport passengers, children, seniors, or clients to their destinations. Your dedication to safety, excellent communication skills, and ability to work with diverse populations will ensure a positive experience for all riders. Duties
- Safely operate buses, paratransit vehicles, school buses, or other commercial vehicles according to traffic laws and company policies
- Transport passengers such as children, seniors, or clients to designated locations with professionalism and care
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, passengers, and team members throughout routes
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing support for those with special needs or childcare requirements
- Follow all safety protocols and behavior management strategies to promote a secure environment onboard
- Complete accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel use, and incident reports as required
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving roles
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and basic troubleshooting to address minor issues promptly
- Excellent customer service skills with an emphasis on working with children, seniors, or individuals requiring special assistance
- Ability to manage behavior effectively and ensure a safe environment for all passengers
- Familiarity with traffic laws, safety regulations, and transportation policies applicable to commercial drivers
- Writing skills for completing reports and documentation accurately
