Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to handle diverse cargo types will ensure timely deliveries and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across local, regional, or long-haul routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, forklift equipment, or specialized tools as required
- Transport refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, hazardous materials, or freight requiring specific handling procedures
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan routes efficiently while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and specialized vehicles such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling including load & unload procedures for freight, hazardous goods, or dangerous materials
- Familiarity with route driving using GPS navigation tools for optimal delivery planning
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Experience with various truck types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence
