Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Transport goods via various trailer types including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing fuel efficiency.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during trips.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery route driving and freight handling.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently.
- Experience with specialized trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred.
- Knowledge of load & unload procedures and safety protocols for various freight types.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus for loading/unloading cargo.
