Job Overview
Local contracting company in need of a Class A CDL Driver. Typical hours of operation are 6:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Hours will vary depending on the project and/ or weather. We average 43hrs a week.
Responsibilities
- Navigate using GPS systems to reach delivery destinations efficiently while managing route adjustments as needed.
- Load and unload freight with precision, including trailers, flatbeds, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and other specialized equipment.
- Transport various types of cargo such as heavy equipment and job site materials.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety standards; perform manual handling tasks for cargo securing and trailer checks.
- Load & unload cargo accurately while adhering to safety protocols; operate forklifts or other equipment as required for logistics cargo handling.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, inspection reports, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Be willing to help out at the job site if needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Demonstrated expertise in driving tractor-trailers and dump trucks
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and adjustments during deliveries.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards related to commercial trucking.
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles confidently; operating standard transmission is a plus
- Strong commitment to safety protocols with a focus on truck loading/unloading procedures and manual handling techniques that ensure secure transportation of all cargo types.
Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
