Job Summary
We are seeking a valid CDL class A driver to drive a company delivery truck.
Duties
- Take 18 wheeler loads out
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions
- Secure freight properly for transit, ensuring load stability during transportation
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver logs, and shipment documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience driving commercial trucks with a valid CDL A license
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles
- Experience taking bobtail load out
- Knowledge of load securing techniques and cargo handling procedures
- Ability to perform truck inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Strong route planning skills with an emphasis on safety and efficiency
- Competence in operating forklifts when required for loading or unloading freight
Requirements
- Must have a clean driving record for the last three years, including no DWI’s
- Driver must be willing and able to drive in all kinds of weather conditions to perform duties
- Must be willing to work 6 days a week and Sundays on occassion
- Must be willing to go over the road to pick up supplies
- Must be able to operate hydraulic crane and various trucks
- Must be able to life and carry approximately 90 pounds
- Must be able to install the equipment for the interment service and perform the vault installation
- Must be able to loan truck using forklifts and overhead cranes
- Must be able to use equipment to install boxes and vaults
- Must be capable of climbing of and on the various trucks, trailers, etc
- Must be considerate and polite to funeral directors, customers, families and fellow employees
- Must be willing to accept training in areas where needed
- Must work weekends when needed to install vaults and drive trucks
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
