Overview
SSHQ is currently seeking an experienced CDL Class A Driver with notable work history to take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers the opportunity to operate commercial vehicles under SSHQ including box trucks and tractor trailers. As a key player in our logistics operation, you’ll ensure timely deliveries, load and unload cargo with precision and care, and uphold safety standards on every trip. Duties
- Safely operate Commercial 26ft straight trucks and tractor trailers to transport freight across designated routes in PA, NJ, and DE.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using proper equipment.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Follow planned routes accurately while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery schedules
- Secure freight properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
Requirements
- Mandatory 5am Start Time, Uniform Required, Broad knowledge of commercial trucks
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving history. Absolutely no DUI’s
- No prior convictions
- Ability to take random drug screenings as requested
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred
- Experience operating specialized equipment such as pallet jacks/liftgates.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently, including handling freight on flatbeds or roll-off trucks when needed
- Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections, route adherence, and documentation accuracy
- Will train to use remote scanning devices.
