Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty trucks to transport freight efficiently and securely across designated routes. Your expertise in handling various types of trailers—including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off, and tractor-trailers—will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate CDL A tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across local, regional, or long-haul routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling of all cargo types.
- Drive a variety of trailers including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to meet diverse transportation needs.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal delivery schedules and adhering to delivery timelines.
- Secure freight properly during transit to prevent damage or loss during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or vehicle issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo details, and inspection reports in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid CDL A license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently.
- Prior experience driving various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures and route driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to trucking operations and cargo handling.
