Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. The ideal candidate will have experience in freight delivery, route driving, and load & unload operations. Candidates must possess a valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and be comfortable handling manual transmission vehicles. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated routes.
- Transport freight using different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently and securely at various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation.
- Follow all federal and state transportation laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Assist with route planning to optimize delivery schedules and fuel efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on trucks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety standards when operating forklifts or other equipment as needed for cargo handling.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with endorsements for manual transmission operation preferred.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including freight delivery, route driving, and load & unload procedures.
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklifts is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or using equipment; capable of lifting heavy loads when necessary.
- Good route planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing schedules or conditions.
- Reliable work ethic with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service.
