Join our dynamic team as a Class B Truck Driver and take on an exciting role that combines skilled driving with essential delivery operations. In this position, you will be driving a BoxTruck. This is a temp job position and will need someone who is flexible with work hours for our upcoming spring shipping season. We ship plants 6 days a week mon-sat from April-May. This job is perfect for someone who is retired looking for some extra money for summer fun.
Duties
- Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized trucks such as dump trucks and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all regulations.
- Drive assigned routes confidently, adhering to schedules while maintaining safety on the road.
- Deliver freight to various locations, ensuring proper handling of different types of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, and tanker materials.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on Class B vehicles; previous delivery driver experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks is required.
- Knowledge of handling different types of freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and bulk materials like dump or roll-off truck cargo.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual methods when necessary.
- Experience navigating route driving scenarios safely in various traffic conditions.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating specialized equipment such as tankers or flatbeds.

Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
