Job Description/Summary
Commercial Drivers are critical members of our team, ensuring the safe and dependable transport of waste and materials from customer to disposal facility. This specific position would entail waste removal services from medical clinics in the Dallas area.
Certain jobs will require some degree of physical labor.
Responsibilities:
- Operate 26′ box truck in a safe and effective manner.
- Loading waste containers into your truck. A dolly will be provided for heavier loads.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving regulations while on the road.
- Manage routes efficiently to optimize delivery times while ensuring safety.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Experience operating different types of trucks such as delivery trucks, freight carriers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with dispatchers and customers.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
