Duties
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers with flatbed configurations
- Plan and follow efficient routes to optimize delivery schedules
- Secure cargo on flatbeds using straps.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security to maintain safety standards
- Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation for regulatory compliance and operational transparency
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delivery updates, or safety concerns during trips
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, specifically with Class A tractor-trailers on route driving assignments
- Demonstrated ability to navigate accurately and efficiently plan routes for timely deliveries
- Prior experience working within FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards is highly desirable
- Delivery driver experience involving route driving across urban or rural areas with a focus on safety and customer service skills
