Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class A Driver to join our transportation team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in driving various types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across local, regional, or long-haul routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Drive different types of trailers including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks based on delivery needs.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Follow designated routes accurately while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with DOT requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing exceptional customer service.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a valid Class A CDL license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely.
- Experience driving various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly preferred.
- Delivery driver experience with a strong track record of punctuality and reliability.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of route planning and navigation tools to optimize delivery efficiency.
