Class A CDL Construction Driver
Location: San Diego County (serving San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties)
Schedule: Full-Time, M-F (6:30AM – 3:PM), with overtime/weekends as needed
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
About the Role
Join our growing construction logistics team as a Class A CDL Construction Driver! You’ll deliver heavy machinery and construction materials to jobsites across Southern California, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transport while providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and Deliver: Operate 42’ manual transmission tractor-trailers to load, transport, and unload materials and heavy equipment at various job sites.
- Safety First: Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Communication: Maintain clear, courteous communication with co-workers, supervisors, customers, vendors and the public throughout your route.
- Documentation: Accurately complete delivery tickets, timecards, driving logs, and required reports.
- Customer Interaction: Ensure a high level of customer service and resolve delivery issues promptly.
- Material Handling: Properly handle and dispose of materials, including potentially hazardous mtrl encountered in construction projects.
- Yard Assistance: Support yard operations as needed, including loading/unloading and basic equipment operation.
Requirements
- Age: Must be over 21 years old.
- Licensing: Valid, unrestricted California Class A CDL required.
- Endorsements: Air Brake and Hazmat.
- Experience: At least 3 years of Class A truck driving experience required (5 years preferred).
- Technical Skills: Able to operate manual transmission and understand construction material handling.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Background: Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings, background check, and a road test.
- Physical Demands: Able to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs. Regular standing, walking, climbing, pulling, kneeling, and lifting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat Certification and knowledge of safe handling/disposal of hazardous materials.
- Road Construction Emplyment Experience.
- Safety Commitment.
Work Environment
- Exposure to various weather conditions, loud noise, moving machinery, dust, and construction environments.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required: (ex) safety vest, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses.
- Not eligible for remote work.
