Class A CDL Relief Driver

Job Description:
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, Atlanta-based OTR Class A CDL driver to operate as a relief driver, covering scheduled home time for our full-time drivers. This is a full-time schedule similar to OTR, with consistent time on the road—just not in a single assigned truck. Drivers will step into an assigned truck and run established OTR routes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Run OTR routes in a slip-seat setup (assigned truck shared with primary driver)
• Operate within established lanes (no forced dispatch outside normal routes)
• Complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain equipment standards
• Communicate clearly with dispatch on availability and scheduling

Schedule:

• Full-time OTR schedule comparable to a traditional over-the-road position
• Consistent time out running established routes
• Assignments scheduled in advance based on driver home time coverage
• Not a dedicated truck, but steady work and miles similar to standard OTR roles
• Flexible time off between runs

Pay:

• Paid per mile – 0.75 CPM
• Consistent miles during each coverage period

Equipment & Comfort:

• 2025/2026 Freightliner & International trucks
• 2026 Hyundai 53ft Dry Van
• Slip-seat operation (shared truck, no permanent assignment)
• Each relief driver will have an assigned mattress
• Dedicated cleaning process: mattresses and linens are swapped at each equipment change, and trucks are cleaned between drivers
• On-site washer/dryer available at our facility
• Relief drivers are provided a large locking storage bin for personal belongings between assignments

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL
• 3+ years OTR experience required
• Clean MVR and strong safety record
• Clean Background check
• Negative drug test
• Ability to step into established routes with minimal supervision
• Reliable and responsive when scheduled

We value reliability and communication. This role works best for drivers who can commit to scheduled coverage periods and take ownership of the truck and load while on assignment.
