Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive classroom instruction on topics such as air brake systems and general commercial driving principles
- Conduct hands-on training sessions in a controlled environment to teach truck driving techniques, including tractor-trailer handling and safety procedures
- Assess student progress through evaluations, practical driving tests, and written exams to ensure mastery of skills
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and certification progress for each student
- Promote a positive learning environment that encourages questions, active participation, and continuous improvement
- Stay current with industry updates, safety regulations, and best practices to ensure training remains relevant and effective
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with NO suspensions or voids in the last 5 years (NE DMV regulation)
- 3 years of experience in commercial trucking, including tractor-trailer operation and truck driving safety protocols
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations, including DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and safety compliance
- Organizational skills to manage training schedules, documentation, and student assessments
- Commitment to fostering a safe learning environment that emphasizes responsible driving practices
