Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering freight to our customers. The Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting goods over long distances, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of the cargo.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks.
- Safely load and unload freight using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and cargo delivered.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Ensure proper handling of freight to prevent damage during transport.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on the road.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, or other specialized vehicles is a plus.
- Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of route driving and freight handling best practices.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other loading equipment is beneficial.
