Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Class 2 HGV Driver at South Coast Waste in Portsmouth. The Class 2 HGV Driver will be responsible for tasks such as skip lorry driving, unloading skips, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 2 HGV Licence
- CPC Qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence):
- Driver Tachograph Card
- Previous experience in driving HGV vehicles, especially skip lorries or similar vehicles, is preferred. Experience with loading and unloading skips, using hook lifts, or Roll-On Roll-Off (RoRo) systems is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of the Highway Code, transportation regulations, and working time directives.
- Understanding of health and safety protocols, particularly when operating in construction or industrial environments.
- The role may involve manual work, such as assisting with loading or unloading skips, so physical fitness and strength are often required.
- The ability to work in varying weather conditions is essential.
