About the Role
Koopman Lumber is hiring experienced CDL Truck Drivers to support our Dennis and Fairhaven locations. We are currently seeking:
- CDL Class A or B Drivers for Dennis, MA
- CDL Class A Drivers for Fairhaven, MA
These are hands-on building materials delivery positions involving local deliveries to residential and commercial jobsites. This is not dock-to-dock driving. Drivers are expected to assist with loading, unloading, returns, and customer interaction throughout the day.
What You’ll Do
- Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks to deliver lumber and building materials
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, Moffett equipment, and manual labor as needed
- Deliver materials to active jobsites safely and efficiently
- Secure loads properly and inspect deliveries for accuracy and condition
- Handle material returns and customer pickups
- Complete delivery paperwork, inspections, and required DOT logs
- Communicate with dispatch using smartphones or tablets
- Provide professional customer service at jobsites and delivery locations
- Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
What We’re Looking For
- Valid CDL License
- Dennis Location: CDL Class A or B
- Fairhaven Location: CDL Class A Required
- Hoisting License (H-1C or equivalent) preferred
- Experience operating forklifts and Moffett equipment strongly preferred
- Ability to safely handle heavy building materials
- Strong focus on safety, communication, and customer service
- Comfortable using mobile devices for routing and delivery communication
- Dependable, team-oriented attitude
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift 80 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs independently
- Frequent bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and material handling
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical
