Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled CDL Hydovac Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a specialized hydrovac unit supporting the demand in a fast paced team oriented environment servicing the construction and utitlity industries. Your expertise will help ensure efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible work on various construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse fleet of heavy machinery and contribute to large-scale infrastructure development.
Responsibilities
- Operate CDL Hydovac trucks safely and efficiently to perform excavation, water removal, and debris cleanup tasks on construction sites.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to plan daily operations and equipment deployment.
- Conduct routine inspections of the hydrovac equipment, including pumps, hoses, tanks, and safety features, ensuring optimal performance.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of excavation sites using additional heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed, materials used, and operational hours for reporting purposes on invoices daily.
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations during operation to prevent accidents or spills.
- Perform minor maintenance on heavy equipment or other vehicles in operation to ensure continuous operation.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CDL-certified hydrovac trucks or equivalent in a construction or industrial setting. Must have tanker endorsement.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, etc. is a plus
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites with familiarity in site preparation and cleanup activities.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction environments.
- Prior experience with Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record is required.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations concerning water management and spill prevention is a plus. Pay: $32.00 – $36.00 per hour
