Overview
We are seeking reliable, experienced, and safety-focused Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders to join our team. In this role, you’ll operate a variety of heavy-duty trucks while ensuring timely and safe deliveries transporting materials between distribution centers such as quarries, warehouses, and customer locations while maintaining high standards of safety regulations and traffic laws. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as within the team. We’re looking for motivated drivers who thrive on route driving, load & unload tasks, and maintain compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and maintenance of vehicle systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times while exercising caution in treacherous circumstances, reporting unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities.
- Operation: Safely operate and maintain a Class A vehicle, including specialized equipment as needed. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Cargo Management: Load, unload, and secure cargo using straps/tarps to prevent damage.
- Communication: Maintain regular contact with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, or maintenance issues and be able to communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members. Use GPS to stay informed of route information, and communicate with supervisors and colleagues using CB radio, phone, tablet/iPad, and Point of Sale Dispatching Service System.
- Documentation: Contribute to company data by maintaining accurate, up-to-date and honest recording times of delivery and hours worked.
- Delivery: Deliver goods within assigned timeframes within DOT guidelines, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Proven experience in operating heavy-duty trucks including Dump-Truck, End-Dump, Flatbed with Moffit, Skid-Steer or Front-Loader.
- Have physical ability to climb in and out of equipment, sit for extended periods of time and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and having a clean driving record with no major violations in the last 10 years.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) rules.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay: From $1,100.00 per week
