Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including manual transmission trucks, to deliver freight across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or specialized equipment such as roll-off or dump trucks.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan routes efficiently and adapt to traffic or delivery changes on the fly.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized vehicles.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with logistics procedures.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and freight delivery.
- Proficiency operating trucks with manual transmissions and various trailer types such as refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials handling, and safety protocols.
- Ability to handle logistics cargo efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines for load & unload procedures.
- Skilled in using GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Experience with forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo when necessary.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with tractor-trailer operations including roll-off trucks and hazardous goods transport is preferred.

Pay: $31.00 – $34.50 per hour
