Job Title: Class B Heavy Duty Towing Driver
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Class B Heavy Duty Towing Driver to operate tow trucks and recover disabled, damaged, or impounded vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience handling medium- to heavy-duty equipment, a strong focus on safety, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class B tow trucks (flatbeds, wheel-lifts, or heavy-duty wreckers) to transport vehicles safely and efficiently
- Respond to roadside assistance calls, accident recoveries, and vehicle relocations
- Secure vehicles using proper towing methods to prevent damage during transport
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and equipment checks before and after each shift
- Maintain accurate records of services, mileage, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, law enforcement, and customers
- Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers in stressful situations
- Clean and maintain tow truck and equipment regularly
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Previous towing, recovery, or commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to operate heavy-duty towing equipment safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, pull, and secure heavy equipment and objects
- Capable of working in various weather conditions (rain, heat, cold)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Must be able to work on highways and roadside environments safely
Work Schedule
- Full-time or on-call shifts
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays may be required
- Overtime opportunities depending on workload
Preferred Skills
- Experience with heavy-duty recovery (tractor-trailers, buses, etc.)
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicles
- Familiarity with GPS systems and dispatch software
- Certifications in towing and recovery (e.g., WreckMaster, TRAA)

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
