Are you a skilled Class A CDL driver looking for a new opportunity? Nichols Trucking is seeking dependable and safety-focused Yard Hostlers to join our team in Longview, Washington!
Shift: Monday – Thursday 7:45p – 4:15a, Friday 7:45p – 6a

What You’ll Do
- Operate a variety of vehicles: Combination tractor-trailers, bobtail trucks, and yard hostlers
- Spot and move trailers: Back trailers to docks with precision and ease
- Navigate the yard: Safely maneuver trucks in a busy yard environment
- Prioritize safety: Use wheel chocks and safety devices; follow all safety protocols
- Stay active: Climb in and out of vehicles multiple times per shift
- Leverage technology: Communicate clearly using onboard computers (tech-savvy a plus!)
What We’re Looking For
- Class A CDL (required)
- Experience spotting trailers (preferred)
- Previous yard hostling or shuttling experience (preferred)
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, twist, and turn in confined spaces
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions

- This position requires being on your feet for most of your shift. Are you comfortable standing and walking for extended periods of time?
- Are you able and willing to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, etc.)?
- This yard can be fast-paced with frequent movement of equipment. How confident are you in safely maneuvering and backing trailers in tight, high-traffic areas?
- Can you work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends if needed?
Experience:
- Class A CDL Yard Hostler: 1 year (Required)
- Class A CDL Semi-Tractor Trailer: 2 years (Preferred)
